6000-series (Magnesium-Silicon Alloy)
6061
The most versatile structural aluminum.
6061 is the most widely specified heat-treatable aluminum alloy in the world. Its combination of moderate-to-high strength, excellent corrosion resistance, good weldability, and broad availability makes it the default choice for structural applications across aerospace, automotive, marine, and general engineering. In the T6 and T651 tempers, it offers an ideal balance of strength and workability that no other aluminum alloy matches across so many application domains.
